Mike Pizzella

Mike co-leads Cequel III’s Family Office private investment strategy, sourcing and managing portfolio company investments. He currently manages the Cequel III investments in the Maryville Centre/Woodsmill Commons office park and Springfield Urgent Care.

From 2016-2021, Mike served as CEO of StayLock Storage, a leading multi-state self-storage company. There, he oversaw the growth of the company through 22 acquisitions of 79 facilities in secondary and tertiary markets. At the time of the sale in 2021, StayLock was one of the 50 largest self-storage operators in the nation.

Before StayLock, Mike led transactions in the Cequel III data center and cable businesses, including growing TierPoint from one facility in Dallas to its current nationwide footprint. Mike served in various roles across TierPoint during the company’s initial growth phase, including corporate development, accounting, fiscal operations, human resources, risk management, investor relations, and marketing/branding.

Before joining Cequel III, Mike worked in KPMG’s Chicago office, where he focused on providing audit services to clients in the real estate industry, including public REITs and private equity real estate funds. Mike received an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a Bowyer Scholar, and a BS from DePaul University, where he graduated magna cum laude. Mike was a licensed CPA from 2007–2010.
